Five minutes with Dina Sudra – Senior Crew Coordinator
1. What inspired you to work in the travel industry?
I studied Tourism Planning and Management, so it was always on the horizon to work in the travel industry and in destination management. My first job after university was in Sales for Virgin Atlantic. I enjoyed the travel perks and working in Sales, and then moved into Group Sales Account Management. I found I had a real passion for Account Management, plus anything that included driving sales, managing events and training and, most of all, working with people, so I have done similar things ever since.
2. What do you enjoy the most in your role here at Tourvest Retail Services?
I enjoy cross-functional work and having a voice within the organisation. Being able to exchange information between the customer and the company and being an integral part of the relationship between the two parties, particularly the crew. I take pride in being a good ambassador for Tourvest and embedding our business values, proposition, and initiatives within the crew community. The role provides me with exposure to many opportunities, which makes it an inspiring place to be.
3. What does a typical day for you look like?
There is no typical day, and this is what I like! It varies from planning or executing a crew training and engagement event to updating electronic point-of-sale devices in the warehouse, to engaging with the crew via the inbox and liaising with the teams across the business. I get involved in all things Tourvest, and no day is the same!
4. What is your favourite travel destination?
My favourite travel destination to date has to be Thailand – anywhere where massages and good food are available on tap, and you can mix the hustle and bustle of city life and then switch off, be on an island and enjoy beach vibes.
5. What do you enjoy doing outside work?
Anything that involves me being creative. I love exploring new places, visiting new restaurants and road-tripping. My newfound passion is going on hikes – swapping out the heels for hiking boots is not so bad. My newest role is being an aunty, which I am embracing and enjoying very much.
