Five minutes with Zuzana Bohanna, Head of Technical & Production
1. What inspired you to work in the travel industry?
I was working for a large food manufacturer when I was approached by a recruiter about a newly created position in the aviation supply chain company. I was
really intrigued by the job as all my past working history was all around food manufacturing, technical services, and consultancy environments, so this one was
a new challenge for me. The fast pace and the vast remit were something that immediately pulled me in and now almost 15 years later I still love the fast pace
and the variety of the job and the industry itself.
2. What do you enjoy the most in your role here at TRS?
Each day is different, and every day is new, I have to think quick on my feet and be prepared to make decisions quickly, but foremost I love the people I work with,
the team is a blend of great knowledge and superb abilities complimenting each other to get to the desired goal. I have been part of this team for 7 years, still
loving the pace, the challenges, the projects, the ideas, and innovations.
3. What do you enjoy the most about working in travel in general?
It would have to be the fast pace, and the problem solving. Travel industry does not stand still. There is usually not enough time to keep debating about solution,
we must act fast to make sure flights are on time, food is safe and plentiful, so passengers are served and happy. I like the fact that I am part of a team that thrives
on being known for bringing the solution to any challenge.
4. What is your favourite travel destination?
Oh, now there are two places I love the most.
Prague is the city that is very close to my heart, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Europe. She is called ‘The mother of all cities’ or ‘The city of thousand
spires’. Romanesque chapels and cellars, Gothic cathedrals, Baroque palaces and gardens, worldly Art Nouveau buildings, and unique Cubist architecture make it a place with no parallel in the world. Also, we have the best beers in the world!
The second place for me is ‘Le Cinque Terre’, a string of five old fishing villages perched high on the Italian Riviera in the region Liguria, which until recently were linked
only by mule tracks and accessible only by rail or water. The best way to explore the five villages is to hike along this scenic coastline, absolutely breathtaking views.
5. What do you enjoy doing outside work?
I love spending time with my stubborn English Bulldog, my husband and I love long walks around neighbouring villages, fields, and country tracks near the river
Thames. I still play tennis as often as possible. Also, I read a lot and collect old crime fiction novels from various authors such as Dick Francis, Agatha Christie,
and P.D. James.
